Hi, my name is James Pearce. I live in the heart of the Devon countryside in Thorverton. I have worked in the construction industry for over 35 years. My career began as an architect, spending 15 years in London and the South West working on projects ranging from large retail developments to Listed buildings.
Although I often worked as a site architect, I wanted to be more hands-on, which led me to transition into building. I became a self-build property developer, creating new homes in Bristol and later in Devon. I also completing projects for clients including kitchen and bathroom remodelling, rear extensions, and major refurbishments of Listed properties.
This has given me an extensive knowledge of all aspects of construction. During this time I have carried out all aspects of the building process from groundworks to finished joinery. My architectural background also enables me to produce drawings, resolve unusual construction issues and interfaces, understand structural changes, and manage Building Control requirements with confidence.

SERVICES
General home maintenance services
Unfortunately houses deteriorate over time and faults occur. They can also require freshening up. So from leaky pipework to sticking doors or painting, I can rectify efficiently
Flat pack assembly and appliance installation
Small scale build projects
I can undertake your updating, home remodelling or extension projects. These can include re-tiling, flat roof replacement, door hanging, bathrooms and kitchens remodelling or home extensions
External works
Landscaping projects such as new fencing, decking or patios
Pricing
It is always useful if you can send photographs of what is required and as full a description as possible. This will enable me to give an indication of the cost of the work to be undertaken.
Work can be carried out by an hourly rate or a quote can be provided for larger projects.
I charge £37 per hour with a minimum of two hours.
